Morgan State University - Scholarships!

Priority Deadline Nov. 15th!!

Morgan State University offers the following for 2012:

  • Tuition Scholarship: Morgan State University awards the Community College Tuition Scholarship to incoming transfer students that complete an Associate’s degree while earning a cumulative community college grade-point average in the “B” to “B+” range and to transfer students that perform at a meritorious level at Morgan. Incoming Transfer Student: Minimum community college G.P.A. of 3.0 and either 56 credits or an Associate’s Degree (AA or AS) earned at a community college. Award covers up to the full cost of your tuition & fees costs.


  • Honors Scholarship: The Community College Honors Scholarship is the highest award Morgan State University provides to transfer students. We award this scholarship to students that complete an Associate’s degree while earning a cumulative community college grade-point average greater than a “B+” and to transfer students that perform at an exceptionally meritorious level at Morgan. Incoming Transfer Student: Minimum community college G.P.A. of 3.5 and an Associate’s Degree (AA or AS) earned at a community college. Award covers up to the full cost of your tuition & fees and on-campus room & board costs and an additional $750 book allowance per semester.


  • Bridge Grant: Morgan State University awards the Bridge Grant to transfer students as “incentive” to transfer to Morgan and pursue high academic achievement. This award is for students who leave their community college early to work toward earning a baccalaureate degree and for students that completed their community college career with a grade-point average in the C+ to B- range. Incoming Transfer Student: Minimum community college G.P.A. of 2.50 (3.0 for non-MD residents)and a minimum of 24 credit hours earned at a community college. Award covers up to $1000 per semester ( $2000 per semester for non-MD residents) toward your University educational costs.

Please note that there are specific requirements which ALL honors scholarship recipients must adhere to in order to maintain their honors scholarship.



You must be a matriculant at or graduate of a designated Maryland community college and have never been enrolled in a baccalaureate degree program at a four-year institution. You may qualify to receive these scholarships for up to 2.5 years (5 semesters) as long as you adhere to all of the specific requirements.
